Books of My Life:
1) Favorite Childhood Book:
The Stinky Cheese Man by Jon Scieszka
This book always stood out to me as kid because I always loved fairy tales and short stories and I always had a taste for comedy. This picture book with many spoofs on classic short stories was always a favorite of mine. The writing and thought that went into making old stories into weird comedic ones was very well thought out and presented in a way that made kids laugh but also was interesting enough to make kids keep wanting to read more and more. This book is a classic that will pull at your funny strings and make you laugh, this is a classic book that will not be soon forgotten.
2) Favorite Book that Inspired Me:
The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
This book tells a story about the life a group of young men who get into trouble on the street, whether it be with cops or other gangs, and it tells how these boys live their life and how they go about doing it and the hardships they faced in the times of the 1950s. this book has many well written and interesting characters which immediately fell in love with and got inspired by. these boys inspired me to stick with my beliefs and be a strong willed person. I have carried these personalities with me from reading this book because of how much I wanted to belike the characters in the book.
3) Favorite Book that Went to Screen:
American Pyscho by Bret Easton Ellis
This was a very well written and highly disturbing and gruesome book, this is why it was a great film adaptation. this book is about a character named Patrick Bateman who is a Harvard university graduate who is a very successful Wall Street stock broker, except that on the inside of Pat, he is a vicious serial killer who disturbingly murders innocent people. this book tells the story of Patrick Bateman's declining life and how he goes through with it. the film adaptation was very loyal to the book and was an Oscar worthy film so it was very well adapted from its novel.
4) Favorite Book that Made me laugh:
The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster by Bobby Henderson
This is perhaps the most wittiest and well thought out and funniest book I have ever read. there is so much debate in today's world about religion, science, and various different aspects of religion and the role of religion in our society. Bobby Henderson basically pokes fun at religion and twists religion into something that can be related to pasta. so he made the gospel of the flying spaghetti monster. this gospel is a handbook for a very funny made up religion that mocks and cleverly twists religious beliefs into very funny ways. this book is a must read if you appreciate comedy and poking fun at religion.
5) Favorite Book that would recommend to friends:
Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling
Though this series is critically acclaimed for being one of the best series in the world, I think that any person, especially a teenager, who has an imaginative mind should read this book series. this series puts the reader into an astonishing world of wizards and magic and has a main character who every boy wants to be and is very well written and has a very good backstory. this book has made me so happy and I think it will make my friends happy because it will put them into an exciting new world which they are new to and don't know much about.
